In 2021, the global power battery installed base reached 296.8 GWh, up 102.3% YoY. In 2022, the global power battery installed base reached 517.9 GWh, a huge increase of 71.8%. Chinese battery companies performed very well, with Ningde Time winning the global battery installed base for the fifth consecutive year and BYD also achieving results that far exceeded those of Japanese and Korean battery companies.
As a key step in the production, design and application of new energy vehicle power battery systems, PACK is the core link between upstream battery production and downstream vehicle utilization. The PACK formation process level of power battery packs is directly related to the power performance and safety performance of electric vehicles.
Lithium battery PACK refers to the processing and assembly of lithium battery pack and packaging. The process of assembling lithium cells into a group is called PACK, which can be a single battery, or a series-parallel lithium battery pack, etc. Battery PACK composition mainly includes cells, modules, electrical system, thermal management system, housing and BMS parts.
Whether it is battery enterprises such as Ningde Time, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, FuNeng Technology, or vehicle enterprises such as SAIC, GAC, Weilai, etc., all attach great importance to PACK.
China's lithium battery PACK technology is generally implemented by three types of subjects: core manufacturing enterprises, vehicle manufacturing enterprises and third-party independent or joint venture professional PACK companies. According to incomplete statistics, 60-70% of the PACK is completed by the core enterprises, 10-20% by the vehicle enterprises and 20% by third parties.

1. BYD

The power pack of an electric vehicle consists of a piece of "battery cell" assembled into a "module", and then the "battery module" is installed in the "battery pack". The "battery module" is then installed in the "battery pack", forming a three-tier assembly model of Cell → Module → Pack.
CTP (Cell To Pack) technology, i.e. the cells inside the battery are directly integrated into the pack, eliminating the need for a "Module", thus optimising space utilisation, while reducing the total weight of the pack and increasing the energy density of the battery. Compared to traditional lithium iron phosphate batteries, the blade battery complements the shortcomings of energy density and volume utilisation, making the battery pack safer and at the same time complementary in performance.
2. EVE Lithium Energy Ltd. was established in 2001, and has become a globally competitive lithium battery platform company with core technologies and comprehensive solutions for both consumer and power batteries, and its products are widely used in the Internet of Things and Energy Internet.
In 2021, EVERLIGHT will be in a lithium rush, including a 20GWh large cylindrical battery project for passenger cars and a 16GWh square lithium iron phosphate battery project in Jingmen High-tech Zone, a 50GWh power storage project in Chengdu, a phase I and II lithium-ion power battery project for passenger cars, plus the original production capacity in Huizhou and a joint venture with SKI. Together with the original production capacity in Huizhou and the 27GWh ternary soft pack capacity in joint venture with SKI, the total capacity of EVERLIGHT's power+storage batteries is nearly 300GWh.

3. Xinwanda
Founded in 1997, Xin Wanda Electronics Co., Ltd. is one of the earliest enterprises engaged in the production of batteries in China. 4. Desai Battery
Founded in 1983, Desai Group is now a large electronic information enterprise group with annual sales revenue of over RMB 30 billion, and its industries involve automotive electronics, new energy batteries, LED optoelectronics, intelligent equipment, precision components and many other fields.
Shenzhen Desai Battery Technology Co., Ltd. is mainly engaged in the manufacture of lithium battery PACK, of which Huizhou Battery is mainly engaged in the small and medium-sized lithium battery PACK business, Huizhou Lanwei is mainly engaged in the small and medium-sized lithium battery BMS business, and Huizhou Xinyuan is mainly engaged in the BMS and PACK business of large power batteries and energy storage batteries.
